Hi! I’m Ömər Məmmədli from Azerbaijan

I studied psychology, and during my university years, I volunteered in different support centers, worked with children. My interest in this field isn’t only because of my studies – I genuinely enjoy spending time with kids, connecting with them, and being part of their little world.

Right now, I’m volunteering in the kindergarten. Every day we play fun and creative games that are not just entertaining but also help the kids grow – emotionally, socially, and creatively. It feels great to support them in this process and see their curiosity and imagination in action. Watching what they’re interested in and how they express themselves teaches me something new every day.

Also, I can observe how teachers play a key role in shaping each child’s personality. It’s fascinating to see how different approaches work with different kids, and how small things can make a big difference in their behavior. This hands-on experience helps me better understand the unique ways children communicate and develop.

The time I spend with the children is enjoyable and meaningful – not just for them, but for me as well. Their smiles, the way they react when they learn something new, and their small everyday progress is what keeps me motivated. Being here, in this environment, gives me inspiration.

Working with children is something I truly love. It’s not just a job or a task – it’s something I feel connected to. They are the future, and every moment spent with them feels like a small but important step toward something good.

The project coordinator, staff members, and teachers have all been incredibly kind and welcoming. Thanks to them, I’ve felt comfortable and supported from day one.

I’m really grateful to the ESC program and my host organization for giving me this opportunity. I look forward to learning even more throughout the rest of the project and doing my best to be helpful and involved.
